Fashion Inspiration of The Day

Free People Fall Shoes

I found this FAB photo of some scrumptious shoes while peeping the Free People website. Instantly I began to ponder the various outfit opportunities!

Cute everyday boots made of distressed suede in the most perfect and versatile color: Slate. Accentuated by the very best caramel toned leather straps… Pair these Paperback Ankle Boots with some dark denim skinnies, a cozy oversized sweater in a luscious winter cream & add some fabulous, punchy accessories to personalize, as well as brighten up, the look– picture a colorful arm of bracelets, a few gemstone pendants dangling around your neck and small or medium hoop earrings…

Next up: the Desoto Cut Out Oxford. If you feel like keeping it posh while still rocking just the littlest bit of edge, this is the shoe for you! These high-shine flats are sophisticated and polished; an updated nod to the ever classic brogue design. When I saw these beauties my mind immediately thought they would be the perfect pair of Oxfords to wear with a crisp, classic, white button-down blouse & a sleek, sexy black pencil skirt; keeping the accessories simple and refined, with pearl or diamond studs and a few dainty necklaces…

The Lonesome Fringe Ankle Boot & the Perspective Heel are two adventurous style choices! If you are down to wear these fancy feet around town, by all means: GOD SPEED Personally, I find these two pairs to be striking. It’s hard to go unnoticed when your shoes have personality & charm that stands all on their own! With the alluring peep-toe, lace-up sandal I am compelled to throw on a textured mini dress (fab pattern or embellishments, please!) while wearing the bare minimum in accessories; brazen without going overboard… As far as the fringed bootie is concerned, this is a spunky & sassy style choice that is much easier to weave into everyday fashion planning. Wear these boots with leggings, a flowy tunic and make sure to incorporate some Native American inspired accessories: feathers, gems, animal talismans, you get the idea…

No matter what shoe best describes your fashion esthetic & identity, wear them with confidence and pride! You look fabulous, sassy, classy, sexy, spunky, funky & fresh in everything you do, BELIEVE IT!!!!

lots o’ love, StonerChíc

Supermodel Seduction

The 90’s were a blast!

Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista, Kate MossStephanie Seymour: Supermodel Icons at the height of their fashion careers…

Fabulous, stylish & glamorous, these babes epitomized effortless and natural beauty. Not only were each one of these women drop dead gorgeous, they each possessed a unique personality, making them witty, charismatic and loveable.

Seemingly untouchable, these stunning ladies acted as though they were exclusive members of a Pretty Girls Only club… And they were! Together these fashion divas were unstoppable– their faces graced the covers of every fashion magazine of the 90’s; while they all took turns playing dress up for the best fashion designers of the time, walking the catwalk with elegance & poise.

A tribute to the flawless 90’s Supermodel… An era of sexual fashion curiosity, portrayed by the biggest names in Supermodel history!

Fab Faux Finds

This Fall the new trend is eco-friendly, animal-conscious, faux, vegan leather goods…  Leggings, jackets, dresses, vests & more! Thick, rich, and decadent vegan leather gives any outfit instant sex appeal and edge. Think: rock n’ roll chíc mixed in with a little wonder-woman/dominatrix…. The style is smooth, skin-tight, and flattering; showing off all the right curves and giving your confidence an extra peak as you  s t r u t  your stuff!

Some of my favorite, most coveted vegan leather pieces are from Sanctuary Clothing. The maidens of design have come back with yet another sophisticated, modern, LA inspired take on vintage clothing; comprising of elegant and sexy ready-to-wear staple pieces. Effortless and cool, I adore the Sanctuary Mixed Vegan Legging–made in a fabulous combination of vegan leather panels covering the frontside (like chaps! in a good way)… while the backside is a beefy, stable Ponte Knit– which is thick and luxe, providing a beautiful, flattering shape that is sure to keep your lady parts well covered and looking flawless! These leggings are radical– paired with sky-high heels, a sultry blouse and some crystals, this outfit just begs to be worn out on the town!

Additionally, the Rebel Vest by Sanctuary and the Hooded Bomber Jacket by Thread & Supply are fantastic additions to this ever-growing faux leather (insert: vegan!) trend. Worn nicely with  jeans or a dress, these outerwear items are perfect. The Rebel Vest has zippers and snap closures that give you instant pop, rock glam, while the Hooded Bomber Jacket is another wonderful design: casual and urban. A great look for Fall, the jacket and vest can be worn in the daytime with denim and a simple tee, or for nigh time fun with a sexy black dress.

Below you will find these items styled to perfection, providing just the right amount of fashion creativity & inspiration… Dare to try something new, it may suit you!

Be bold, be beautiful, be different, be YOU! Hugs & Kisses, StonerChíc

Shivers & Goosebumps

Every once in a while a band comes along that BLOWS. YOUR. MIND… & SOUL.  Efterklang is one of those bands!

A Danish group–based in Berlin–this dynamic 3-man collaboration crafts musical magic… Cool synths, heavy bass beats, horns, and beautiful yet eerie vocals, Efterklang is a unique band with an original sound. When performing live the band grows to include more musical talent than should be legal! Here, I have included a short video featuring a live radio performance in Vienna where their songs Between The Walls, Black Summer & The Ghost are rendered beautifully and majestically… Luxurious builds, haunting harmonies & brassy undertones… Enjoy!!

Good Lorde!

Lately, I have become obsessed with this young–16 year old–New Zealand pop star! She is funky-fresh, spunky, cheeky, and just too damn good! LORDE is her name and I think her hip-hop beats are here to stay… Along with her catchy hooks and bold lyrics too! And what really tickles my fancy, and adds another layer of AWESOMENESS to the mix, is the fact that she is the singer/songwriter of all her shit… I love when artists are hands-on, making their sound & look personal, not to mention stylish!

Inspired by the lavish and opulent lives of royalty, Lorde’s songs are mature, dripping in satire and socially attuned.  Following the release of her first EP, The Love Club, in May of 2013, her hit single, Royals, skyrocketed to #1 (in Australia/NZ & the Alternative Billboard Chart). Since, she has been busy working on new material for her full length album, expected out September 2013. Confident and sassy, Lorde writes lyrics that speak to teenagers and young adults alike, transcending her tender age and proving that she is no ordinary talent. Her deep sultry voice and bass-heavy beats combined with girly, flirty, lively, and tart lyrics, make her songs danceable, singable & totally lovable!

Recently I have been playing her jams Bravado and Biting Down on repeat… I love the slow builds and the insane drops as you are plummeted into a rich and heavy sound– followed by her brooding and sexy voice that is exquisitely arranged to include harmonies and other beautiful vocal flairs… Her most popular song, Royals, is another gem!! Personally, I love the lyrics to this song as I think she taps into the pop-culture phenomenon of being obsessively addicted to fame & fortune. A clever young lady indeed, Lorde has captivated her audience by producing stellar songs that are too yummy to pass up… I’ve included her video to Royals so you can get a feel for her ripe & raw talent. Because her sound is so powerful, her videos are simplistic, to say the least. Additionally, her amazingly big, wavy hair paired with her dark and heavy eyeliner give you a sense of her personal style: simple yet bold. I love her look as well as her video esthetic, clean and refined, like a true royal queen B… I present LORDE!!!
