A magnificent quote from the distinguished Rumi. A beautifully descriptive image is left lingering in my mind’s eye… Envisioning lovers intertwined, connected, like wild birds freely mating as they float across the majestic crystal blue sky.
Instagram Whore: guilty as charged. I have taken over 1,000 pictures using my iPhone, many of which have been uploaded onto my Instagram account and I’d like to share them here, with you. Many of these pictures where taken in San Francisco or Marin County, with a few exceptions!
Don’t you fret, I’ll make sure to let you know where these images are set…
Happy Browsing! XoXo, Sc
I am a yogi. By no means enlightened, although making a humble attempt to learn more, grow more and be present, more.
The only way I know how to go about this slow, challenging, fulfilling and yes, sometimes frustrating, process, is to: practice, practice for all is coming…
Whenever I notice myself falling into the perils of my mind, I search for my breath, I slow down my thoughts and I think…I am not the first, nor will I be the last to go through self created struggle, instead redirect the inner conversation, notice the beauty around you in the present moment, breathe, let go and m o v e on. This is by no means an easy task, it is time consuming for it must be done everyday; as well as humbling, and at times, painfully revealing. No matter, I feel deep gratitude and eternal blessings to be on this path. This is where I am meant to be, right now, living this experience, learning from this current teaching. In my heart and in my soul I have profound admiration and reverence for Krishnamacharya–also known as the father of modern yoga & BKS Iyengar–one of the foremost teachers in the world who has developed a keen mode of practice that infuses intelligence in the body and calmness in the mind, creating healing for any body that looks to search the self.
This posting is to honor, appreciate and ultimately recognize the efforts of all yogis: past, present & future. Yogis who diligently and genuinely work their shadow places to harness more light, more breath, and more life… May all beings be happy & free.

You can never have too many coffee shops. Especially when the treats inside are as yummy as ever! Craftsman & Wolves on Valencia in the Mission District is an elegant nod to baked goods with the most unique and sophisticated flair. Flavorful breakfast pastries, cakes, confections, confitures, desserts, lunch and other sweet or savory delights can be had at this cool, chic location. I enjoy a mug of their Formosa Oolong Tea with either their Hazelnut Cake or Cocoa Carrot Muffin (and for savory goodies, The Rebel Within is truly all the hype…) In hindsight, nothing you eat here would ever do you or your taste buds wrong… Everything is decadent and perfectly luscious!
Out and about in the San Francisco Mission District on a frenzied Saturday night, I was stoked to see this MAGICAL live music Party Bus!!!! Interstellar Transmissions provide a unique musical experience for the party goer. Aboard a revamped school bus, musicians Gavin McGowen, Nathan Wilson, Coda and Ishani Ishaya travel from state to state, city to city entertaining those who seek a one-of-a-kind, non-traditional, live music escapade! Peep the pics to be blown away by Interstellar Transmissions’ far out, far fetched idea! RADICAL !!!!
Off The Grid is an innovative Food Truck phenomenon! An organization that hosts various Food Trucks and Food Carts at various venues across the Bay Area, Off The Grid is unstoppable! My first experience with OTG was 2 years ago when it was just getting started… It began as a weekly trend, meeting at Fort Mason every Friday from 5pm to 10pm. A fun, festive, community oriented gathering, Off The Grid was the perfect first date, girls night out or relaxed family dinner! With so many delicious, delectable treats to choose from it could only grow… Fast forward, and now it is no surprise that the movement has flourished and is becoming a booming entity. Off The Grid has Food Truck frenzy all over the Bay Area, including markets at Fort Mason Center, UN Plaza, North Berkeley, South Berkeley, Hayward, Alameda, Presidio and Larkspur.
I recently met up with my foodie girlfriend Isabel for a yummy lunch at the OTG Larkspur at the Marin Country Mart. A fun, inexpensive dining experience, Food Trucks offer quality food for street food prices. Most trucks are organic and natural, made with fresh, local ingredients. Both Isabel and I went with a tasty pulled pork belly sandwich piled high with coleslaw and potato chips. Known as the Barbacoa Sandwich from Sanguchon SF, this Food Truck features flavorful Peruvian sandwiches. We were not disappointed in the slightest. In fact, we ate them with such gusto that we didn’t even steal a chance for a picture… Oh well, you’ll have to pick a time of day or night to check out Off The Grid and treat yourself to delectable foodie goodies ;)

I stumbled upon a wonderfully crafted store yesterday while walking the streets of San Francisco. After a delicious early afternoon in Hayes Valley, my bf and I made our way back to the Mission District– we were both headed for Dolores Park to bask in the warmth and glory of the sun! Before, however, we perused Valencia… the stores there are divine! Each shop has a one-of-a-kind flair that is too stylish for words… Hipster Funk, Stoner Chic, Boho Sophistication that is just the right combination of rebel, edgy and classic. Voyager Shop really stood out. A retail collaboration among SF based Revolver, Spartan and Needles/Pens, this space is carefully curated featuring clothes, accessories, books, art and more! An exceptional variety is offered at Voyager Shop and aside from spectacular fashion and culture finds, the space is a designers dream. I’ve included some pictures of the store so you can get a taste… If you ever find yourself in SF or the Mission, I highly recommend you stop by Voyager Shop, I can only imagine you will LOVE it! xxoo, SC
Pedro Almódovar is a Spanish filmmaker with international acclaim. He must be my favorite writer/director of films of all time! I absolutely can not get enough and am kicking myself for not yet seeing his latest, The Skin I Live In.
I appreciate his development of plot and character, he is magic at creating a beautifully complex story line with twists and turns that seem so bizarre they could only imitate the actual nuances and absurdities of everyday life. Additionally, I am entirely grateful for someone who is not afraid to push boundaries, especially when it concerns topics of sexuality, gender, crime, emotion and spirituality. To me Almódovar is a holistic filmaker, thinking through the entire picture and encapsulating every scene with rich detail and feeling. I get lost in his movies and feel pleasantly turned around after having seen one, asking all kinds of questions about the story and social commentary, the music or clothes, the location and the Spanish culture. What a fabulous eye!
Before I go ahead and wow you with a few pics of this dashing creator of film, a quote from Almódovar that resonates personally: Artists have inspired me and have inspired my characters, it gives them something to live… Art’s function is to help you survive, help you live.
Olé Almódovar! xxoo
