Off The Grid is an innovative Food Truck phenomenon! An organization that hosts various Food Trucks and Food Carts at various venues across the Bay Area, Off The Grid is unstoppable! My first experience with OTG was 2 years ago when it was just getting started… It began as a weekly trend, meeting at Fort Mason every Friday from 5pm to 10pm. A fun, festive, community oriented gathering, Off The Grid was the perfect first date, girls night out or relaxed family dinner! With so many delicious, delectable treats to choose from it could only grow… Fast forward, and now it is no surprise that the movement has flourished and is becoming a booming entity. Off The Grid has Food Truck frenzy all over the Bay Area, including markets at Fort Mason Center, UN Plaza, North Berkeley, South Berkeley, Hayward, Alameda, Presidio and Larkspur.
I recently met up with my foodie girlfriend Isabel for a yummy lunch at the OTG Larkspur at the Marin Country Mart. A fun, inexpensive dining experience, Food Trucks offer quality food for street food prices. Most trucks are organic and natural, made with fresh, local ingredients. Both Isabel and I went with a tasty pulled pork belly sandwich piled high with coleslaw and potato chips. Known as the Barbacoa Sandwich from Sanguchon SF, this Food Truck features flavorful Peruvian sandwiches. We were not disappointed in the slightest. In fact, we ate them with such gusto that we didn’t even steal a chance for a picture… Oh well, you’ll have to pick a time of day or night to check out Off The Grid and treat yourself to delectable foodie goodies ;)
