I’ve been jammin’/rockin’/groovin’/dancin’ to the musically diverse and super fun cd SUPERHEAVY. This collaboration album featuring the sounds of prolific artist’s Mick Jagger, Dave Stewart, Joss Stone, Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marley and A.R. Rahman is eclectic.
They all sound good together! Surprisingly or not, this album has a lot of high points… Although there are a few songs that may not appeal to a conventional audience, for us cool ones, this cd is fun, fresh and great for mixing in with party playlists! I love how Mick Jagger has taken on a new style that suits his distinct vocals, reggae beats really seem to work. Marley’s role works for me as the glue to the sound, as most is greatly influenced by Reggae and Indian musical stylings. Joss Stone’s gritty, soulful voice also blends nicely with all the musicians, she truly has attitude when she sings! I also love and appreciate the classical and Indian element to the music with the influence of A.R. Rahman, who is well know for his work with the score of Oscar favorite, Slumdog Millionaire.
Tracks I HIGHLY Suggest: SuperHeavy, Miracle Worker, Common Ground, I Don’t Mind, Rock Me Gently, World Keeps Turning, One Day One Night and Mahiya.
I recommend this cd, hope you enjoy it if you happen to give in… I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. xxoo, SC
